Vietnam Veterans of America Southwest Montana
Helping Veterans, Communities, & Those Serving In Harm's Way
During the Vietnam War, they were on the home front, supporting their sons and daughters overseas. They kept a light on for their safe return, took the time to write letters and send care packages to the men and women risking their lives every day in the jungles of Southeast Asia.
My Dearest Son,
Today, I am coming to see your name on The "Wall." I haven't been ready until now but I knew I must see it before I die.
I miss you so much - I think of you everyday. You had so much of life to live and your life was taken so quickly.
With lump in throat and and teary eyes, I am on my way. I wanted to bring your teddy bear but just couldn't part with it - instead I brought your first sweater.
You are always in my heart. How I love you!
God be with you til we meet again.
Love, Mom
For the mothers of the more than 58,000 service members inscribed in black granite on The Wall, and the millions who have served in our armed forces, their love and compassion never faltered. They persevered through sacrifice and loss, and showed strength in service, love and compassion. Even though many of our Vietnam mothers are now gone, VVMF continues to honor the sacrifices of their sons and daughters.
Make a gift in their honor today and help us continue that work.
